This program is a wonderful place to begin your cheerleading journey. We pride ourselves in providing cheer instruction based on healthy progression and skilled coaching in order to promote self-esteem, skill building, and sportsmanship in athletes.

Our developmental cheer program has been shaped to help athletes improve tumbling, jumping, stunting, dancing, and all other USASF routine elements. Cheerleading is more than just a sport, it has the depth to build confident, motivated individuals. We look forward to facilitating your child’s growth and development the second they walk through our doors.

Class Descriptions

Cheer 101: This class is designed to introduce to anyone the fundamentals of cheerleading. No prior skills needed to join! Athletes will focus on jumping, stunting, some aspects of tumbling, cheer and dances. This class is best recommended paired with a tumbling class.

Cheer 102: This class is designed to take cheerleaders to the next level. Athletes will focus on a higher level of jumping, stunting, some aspects tumbling, cheers and dances. This class is best recommended paired with a tumbling class. Prerequisite: completion of Cheer 101.

High School Prep: This class is designed to prepare athletes for either high school cheer or All Star Competition cheer through the instruction of jumps, stunting, some aspects of tumbling, cheers, chants and dances. This class will also incorporate mock tryouts to help athletes prepare! If class participation falls in the tryout season and an athlete wants to bring their cheer and dance material, they will have the opportunity to use this class to fine tune it with the coach. This class is best recommended paired with a tumbling class. Prerequisite: 12+ or in 6th grade (middle school) or higher.

Boys Tumbling 1-5: These classes are designed in the same manner as all tumbling classes but specified for boys only. Prerequisite : Evaluation required during trial class.

Tumbling Level 1: This class is designed to introduce basic tumbling skills. Athletes will focus on rolls, cartwheels, round-offs, walkovers and more. There is a high emphasis on strength and body positioning in this class. Prerequisite: If no experience, no evaluation needed. If some experience, we will evaluate during a trial class.

Tumbling Level 2: This class is designed to instruct back handspring work while maintaining and progressing skills learned in Level 1. Athletes will focus on standing back handsprings, running series back handsprings and running specialty passes. Prerequisite: Mastery of Level 1 skills. Evaluation will be held during trial class or by a coach when the athlete is ready.

Tumbling Level 3: This class is designed to instruct tuck work while maintaining and progressing  skills learned in Level 2. Athletes will focus on standing series back handsprings, running back tucks, punch fronts, jumps to tumbling, standing back tucks and running specialty passes.

Prerequisite: Mastery of Level 2 skills. Evaluation will be during trial class or by a coach when the athlete is ready to move up. 

Tumbling Level 4: This class is designed to instruct layout work while maintaining and progressing on skills learned in Level 3. Athletes will focus on standing series back handsprings into tucks, jumps into tumbling sequences, running layouts, whips, standing specialty passes and running front/back specialty passes.

Prerequisite: Mastery of Level 3 skills. Evaluation will be during trial class or by a coach when the athlete is ready to move up. 

Tumbling Level 5: This class is designed to instruct full work while maintaining and progressing on skills learned in Level 4. Athletes will focus on standing series back handsprings into layouts, standing fulls, jumps into tumbling sequences, running fulls, whips, standing specialty passes and running front/back specialty passes.

Prerequisite: Mastery of Level 4 skills. Evaluation will be during trial class or by a coach when the athlete is ready to move up.

  • Tuition is due in advance on the 1st of every month. If tuition is not paid by the 15th of the month a $17 late fee will be applied, AND the child may be dropped from the class at the Momentum’s discretion.
  • There are no make-up classes offered for absences unless Momentum cancels the class (gym holidays and closures not included).
  • All classes require 30 day written notice to cancel.
